Kinapse today announced the appointment of Kurt Brykman as its new CEO. The appointment will be effective 15 June 2016. Kurt succeeds Andy Black, who will remain on the Board of Directors.

Mr. Brykman has a proven track record of growing successful life sciences organisations, most recently as COO at Medpace and prior to that as a divisional President at PAREXEL. While at PAREXEL he was an officer and key member of the management team that grew that company into the one of the world’s largest clinical research organizations. He holds an MBA in Finance and Economics from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in mathematics from Michigan State University.

Reflecting on his appointment, Mr. Brykman said: “I believe that new areas outsourcing are about to take off in the life science industry and that Kinapse, with its unique Advise-Build-Operate approach to the market, will be a leader in these areas. I have been very impressed with the strength of the people I have met so far at Kinapse and feel that they are the key to future success of the company.”

Kinapse Chairman Steve Kent said: “I am delighted that Kurt is joining Kinapse to build on the work that Andy and Nick have started. I am also very pleased that Andy will join the Board to add his deep experience and ability.”

Established eleven years ago by co-founders Nicholas Edwards and Andy Black, Kinapse provides advisory, capability building and operational services to the world’s leading life sciences organisations, their customers, suppliers and regulators. The group has offices in the UK, India and the United States and employs over 500 professionals worldwide.

Kinapse has grown significantly in recent years and has been featured on the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list of the fastest growing companies in the UK for four consecutive years. It recently opened US offices in Chicago, Cambridge and Manhattan and expanded operations and teams in India. Kinapse is a partner of 9 out of the top 10 global pharma companies.

Commenting on Mr. Brykman’s appointment, outgoing CEO Andy Black said: “I am incredibly proud of everything that we have achieved in Kinapse so far and excited about what we will achieve with Kurt’s leadership. I will continue to be actively involved in the business and look forward to working closely with Kurt in future.”
